Does Softened Water Really Taste Better?

Does Softened Water Really Taste BetterNaturally, the human sense of taste is extremely subjective. This means that taste buds of everyone is different. Some people claim that softened water taste clean and pure, while other use the phrase ‘somewhat metallic’ to describe the taste. Other people report that softened water taste like flat or cold boiled water. For most folks, it is very difficult to distinguish the difference between soft and hard water. A practical comparison between hard and soft water brings out the difference in taste. After rolling a sip of softened water over your tongue, you will notice that the water feels soft. A sip of hard water on the other hand has a fuller texture. The texture signals dissolved calcium carbonate.

Some people conclude that softened water is salty based on the material deployed. Sodium bicarbonate used to soften resin found in hard water differs from sodium chloride or table salt. It also does not penetrate the water source. In hard water regions, chlorine is commonly used. If the quantity of chlorine outshines flavour, the difference in taste becomes relatively significant.

The fact that people spend money buying bottled water clearly ascertains that softened water taste better. People pay for bottled water due to taste attached to mineral content and health benefit resulting from consuming mineral water.
Installation of Reverse Osmosis (RO) system for every water softener is a recommended universal rule. It does not only facilitate water softening for household needs, but also ensure that water running from the taps is clean and tasty.

According to best water softener uk residents noticed a significant change in the taste of their water compared to when they didn’t have a softener installed. This is because a water softening system removes any chlorine, sodium, dissolved solids as well as other impurities to produce clean water. Is it Legal to Drink and Drive an Electric Motorcycle?

Is it Legal to Drink and Drive an Electric MotorcycleElectric Motorcycles Are a Popular Alternative After DUIs

Electric motorcycles are a great alternative for people who just lost their license to a DUI because you do not need one to operate an electric motorcycle according to federal law. With an electric motorcycle you can still get to work, see friends and anything else you need to do. In fact, sales of electric motorcycles spike right after the holidays because so many people lose their licenses to DUIs and need a new way to get around.

This raises the obvious question for people who like to drink and still get around: is it legal to drink and drive an electric motorcycle? Losing your license to a DUI, only to get your Razor electric motorcycle impounded for the same thing leaves you even worse off than before, so let’s take a quick look at how the law treats this issue.

The Law on DUI and Electric Motorcycles

The relevant laws will vary by state and municipality, and it is impossible to list them all. The important thing is to look at is a couple of specific laws in your state and town to determine how DUI laws apply to electric motorcycles where you live. For example, in California no bikes qualify as vehicles, which means you cannot get a DUI. You might get a ticket, but it will not be related to your driving record. In most places where bicycles are treated separately from motor vehicles, electric motorcycles are still classified as bikes, and are not subject to DUI specific laws. That said, it is still rarely legal to ride any kind of bike when you’re drunk, and an electric motorcycle might draw more attention than a normal cyclist would.

The Reality of Driving an Electric Motorcycle While Drunk

In general, people who ride bikes drunk are only really a danger to themselves. There are very few examples of drunk cyclists causing major accidents leading to harm for anyone but themselves. Drunk cyclists are usually treated pretty leniently by police officers, regardless of what the actual legal restriction may be. However, this leniency may start to be reduced as more and more people start to use electric motorcycles. If there is a big enough increase in accidents involving electric motorcycles, then police officers will be more likely to to use drunk and disorderly charges or similar laws to punish people who are operating electric motorcycles drunk. These may not be as bad as traditional DUIs, but they are still a legal punishment.

In most places in the country, the police will be more concerned with you causing a nuisance with your drunk driving on an electric motorcycle than any real concern about public safety as in normal DUIs. Therefore, if you need to drive drunk, just go slow and stay under the proverbial radar, and you shouldn’t have any problems.

How Alcohol Affects Your Sleep

How Alcohol Affects Your SleepHaving a nightcap before bed can help you sleep quicker and deeply but it disrupts rapid eye movement sleep, also referred to as REM. REM sleep is the stage where someone is dreaming, usually 90 minutes after falling asleep. Moreover, REM sleep is thought to be restorative and interruptions at this stage from a drink before going to bed can cause drowsiness during the day and poor concentration.

Alcohol might induce sleep but in the end, it is disruptive to your sleep. Below are the main ways alcohol affects your sleep.

1. Altering your sleeping pattern

REM sleep is an important stage in your sleep cycle. Its benefits will consist of daytime alertness, an improvement on your learning capabilities, better memory and better emotion processing.

When you drink alcohol before going to bed, it will help you go into the deep sleep stage faster than usual. The deep sleep stage is where the body heals itself. However, you will skip the REM stage, which is important for memory and concentration. As the alcohol wears off during the second stage, your sleep is disrupted and in most cases, you wake up only to start falling asleep all over again.

2. Affects a good night sleep

Getting into deep sleep sooner than expected does not spell out good news for you, because this is the dreamless stage. Although you are not dreaming, you are not stirring as supposed to in the REM sleep. Your heart rate is still elevated meaning that some parts of your brain are still active. Consequently, your body remains active, instead of resting you wake up feeling tired and drained.

3.  Increased trips to the bathroom

Our bodies produce less urine at night than during the day, which allows us to sleep six to eight hours. Drinking alcohol will disrupt your sleep cycle when you wake up during the evening to go to the toilet, furthermore you will not be losing just the fluid you had drunk alone. Your body will lose extra fluid through sweat, thus this leaves you dehydrated, as alcohol is a diuretic.

4. It affects women more

Women tend to toss and turn more than men after an evening of drinking. Main reason is women metabolize alcohol much faster than their counterparts. Consequently, it means that they get past the alcohol sedative effects quicker and reach the second stage of sleep much sooner.

5. It worsens your sleep problems

Alcohol relaxes the muscles in your body; your upper airway will decrease in muscle tone exacerbating your breathing related sleep issues. People suffering from sleep apnea will stop breathing for short periods as their airway is blocked while sleeping. Moreover, alcohol makes individuals who have obstructive sleep apnea to stop breathing for longer periods and frequently during the night.

The relaxed muscles in your body caused by a couple of drinks aggravate less, but more familiar problems like snoring loudly will take place.

6. It reacts badly with sleep aids

Medication should never be mixed with alcohol, especially sleep prescribed medicine like Ambien, Lunesta, and other drugs. Most sleeping aids target the neurotransmitter GABA, alcohol and sleep aids target the same neural system. The combination can cause someone to stop breathing by inhibiting the parts of the brain essential for survival and eventually leading to their death.

7. Trigger acid reflux

Too many drinks can cause that uncomfortable burning sensation known as heartburn. The acid reflux will keep you from going to sleep. Alcohol will relax the lower oesophageal sphincter muscle, which is between the stomach and oesophagus. This muscle is meant to be closed and only opens when swallowing food. However, too many drinks will relax the muscle leaving it open for stomach acid to come back up.

8. Overtime, your body creates a dependency on alcohol to get some sleep

Reliance on alcohol as a sleep aid, due to chronic conditions like insomnia, might lead to dependence on alcohol. Regular drinking makes your body to build a tolerance to alcohol; thereby this leads to more drinking in order for your body to feel the effects.

If you were to drink alcohol, it would be wise to avoid it close to your bedtime. Depending on how much you have drunk and your metabolic rate it is important to give yourself some time so that your body can process the alcohol. Better sleeping habits like sticking to a bedtime schedule and paying close attention to what you eat or drink before bed will go a long way. Another thing that will definitely help with your sleep is a comfortable mattress. Read mattress reviews and guides to find out what type of mattress would best fit your needs and go ahead and invest in one. Remember, the money you will be spending on a new mattress will not only be an investment for your home but more importantly, it will be for your overall health.

Is It Possible to Enjoy Alcohol Whilst on a Fitness Regime?

Is It Possible to Enjoy Alcohol Whilst on a Fitness RegimeWe all know that it’s not easy to maintain a fitness regime on a regular basis as it involves you giving up your favourite foods, owning a strict diet regime and exercising on a regular basis. After all, what good would 100 presses on an adjustable weight bench do if you’re pigging out at the local diner 4 times a week? However, many people wonder that does giving up on good food also mean that they give up on their drinks as well? Is it possible to enjoy alcohol when on a fitness regime or not?

Though alcohol is not considered to be quite healthy for the body, studies suggest that even if a person owns a strict fitness regime, they can include healthy drinking habits in it without hampering the regime.

Problems Related to Alcohol

So, why should you be careful about grabbing your favourite drink if you’re thinking to get back into shape? Here is why.

  • One of the major reasons why fitness experts advise people to stay away from alcohol when on a regime is that it offers absolutely zero nutritional value to the body.
  • Certain alcohols have the ability to slow down the absorptions of essential vitamins and nutrients that a person gets from his meals which might have been otherwise useful in weight loss and fitness.
  • Another issue with alcohol is that some alcoholic beverages are quite high in calories and can severely affect your planned diet and fitness regime. You might be eating healthy and exercising well on a regular basis but that one big glass of beer during weekends makes up for it all, and you end up losing no weight at all no matter how hard you have been working out.
  • So, should you stop drinking?

Despite these problems, choosing the right kind of alcohol and that too consuming it in the right quantity might not prove to be as harmful for fitness lovers. If you play your cards right, you may be able to keep on drinking your favorite brand of alcohol without a worry.

The good side of Alcohol

To talk about its positives, certain alcohol drinks help maintain normal pressure of blood and also improve cardiovascular problems in the body. If you do not wish to give up alcohol but also maintain your fitness regime, red wine is just the drink for you. It is great for people with heart issues and is a natural treatment for alleviating high blood pressure in individuals.

Moderation is the key

As it is with our diet, the key to enjoying alcohol when on a fitness regime is moderation. As they say too much of anything is bad, it is important that you drink in moderation, try to reduce the frequency of alcohol consumption by keeping it to a minimum and most importantly choose the right drinks every time you have the urge to do so.

Create the right balance

Create and adapt a schedule where you have fun, and consume limited alcohol. Aim to maintain a proper fitness regime, and alcohol can be easily enjoyed even when fighting to stay fit! Stick to your routine exercises, diet plan and drink reasonable amounts of alcohol only when you really have to.

Do DJ’s Normally Drink Alcohol When Performing?

Do DJ’s Normally Drink Alcohol When PerformingIf you have ever been to a club night or a music festival, you have probably wondered whether DJ’s drink alcohol whilst performing. This is up to the individual DJ and they will all have slightly different opinions on the subject. This article looks into this topic further.

DJ’s who Drink Alcohol

Most young DJ’s who are just starting out in the industry get pretty drunk whilst performing. Many admit that this has affected their judgement at times. One DJ that I interviewed said he once played Queen and Jimi Hendrix to a rap crowd. It seems like some DJs drink too much. Often, stumbling home at the end of the night on a regular basis.

Other DJ’s admit to drinking but say that this helps then get in the mood to perform. Many of them say that a little alcohol in their system allows them to let loose and get into the rhythm of the tune coming out of their DJ headphones. Drinking in moderation could help to increase motivation and levels of happiness, making the DJ better at his job. Unfortunately DJing is an industry where a lot of drink and drugs can be readily available; it’s also a young person’s game. Young people like to experiment. This is the reason that a high number of DJ’s suffer from burnout.

Some DJ’s will have a drink at the beginning of their set or will do a couple of shots before they start to get them in the mood to perform. They will then drink water for the rest of the night. It depends on a person’s motivation behind DJing, if they are just doing it for a bit of fun when they are young then they are probably going to get drunk. If they hope to make a career from it they are more likely to stay sober.

DJ’s who don’t Drink Alcohol

People who are seriously considering going into DJing as a career, are more likely to do so sober. If they take pride in their work, they will want to perform to the best of their abilities. To do this most DJ’s would agree its best not to get totally smashed.

All DJ’s need to decide whether to take the clean route or the drink/ drugs route. If a DJ continues to drink heavily throughout a twenty year career then this will do harm to his/her health. The DJ may also risk losing their job.

Most DJ’s get into the industry as they love music and while it is often tempting to get drunk, many are inspired to perform to the best of their ability, so manage to curb this. Partying for a living is a bad idea and most DJ’s will focus more on the music then drinking.

Most DJ’s would agree that there needs to be a balance between working and partying. If a DJ is serious about their career they will be able to set goals and plan where they want to be in the future, as is the case with most careers. If a DJ is driven to succeed then he/ she will be less likely to sacrifice long term success for a bit of fun.

First Beer Experience

Beer is a wonderful drink, and it is very common in most of the places in the world. Everyone will have a first time in all the works, and that experience cannot be forgotten easily. I would like share my first Belgium beer experience. To say the truth I was not attracted by the taste of this beer in the first sip but as the days passed by I started to love this drink. I believe that my tastes have changed with time, and it is one of the reasons why I started to love this drink. I feel the following when I smell the aroma of the Duvel caramel, fresh cut straw, pilsner malt and honey. This gives a very frizzy taste, and I love it. Pils malt and honey taste provides a crispy feel in the drink that cannot be ignored easily. Of course, it has some alcoholic characters but this is not stick like other Belgian blondes.

The sour taste provided by the barley is a highlight in this drink. Finally, this drink finishes with a Chardonnay dry feel. All these combined effects make this a very impressive beer. But a point to be noted in this beer is its high cost. I am very surprised because according to me there is no costly or any special ingredient used here. Maybe the process of manufacturing this drink might be very complicated and costly which increases the value of this drink in leaps and bounds. After I drink this beer, I have a refreshing feel and this drink has an effervescent similar to the champagne. This beer is, of course, worth multiple trials as its taste cannot be ignored nor forgotten easily. It will not be a very tough job to find this beer in the market.

Best Beers In The Market

There are numerous brands, variety and preferences of beer in the market. In fact, many people will be confused about the selection that has to be done and hence I have listed some best beers in the market that will make the selection work easy and simple. Cask ale is a beer variety that is loved by many due to the wonderful taste and quality. Usually, this beer will be high or equal to the cost of its counterpart – keg beer.

A point to be noted here is that this beer will not be prepared year round. It is brewed especially during the beer festivals or competitions making them more special comparatively. In fact, when this beer is opened for sale it will not last for more than a day or two in the shop as its demand is very high. This is primly due to the delicious taste and freshness.

The kegged beer is another form that is liked by many people in the country a very difficult part in the selection is this has numerous brands. This beer will keep a person interested in trying out all available brands, as it is very tasty. No brand can be ignored. The collaboration beer is also famous in the market that cannot be skipped.

Many will be confused in the selection of beer packing, as it is an important point to be noted. If you are planning to take beer for a long distance travel, then cans are preferred. In case, it is for immediate consumption bottles will be advisable. The cans will have a lot of advantages when compared to the bottles due to various reasons. Canned beer is available on in the recent days and bottle packing has a very long history when compared with the previous one.

Resurrected Beer Styles

Many people will not be aware of the fact that the beer comes in various styles. However, many of the styles are starting to come back into the market recently. Some of them include salty witbier and smoked wheat beer. Kentucky Common and Grisette are two types of beer that I tried recently as I always like to experiment new things.

Grisette is a light alcohol drink that has a very good history. Saison is another form of beer that is often compared with the previous type. In fact, the taste and properties of these two drinks do not differ much but the people who take it differed. The farmers preferred Saison whereas Grisette was loved by miners. The latest version of saison is said to have more alcohol content due to the increase in lactic acid content in it. The researchers state that the increase is about 5.4%

Grisette did not have any lactic sourness, and it had a refreshing bitter taste. In simple terms, it was like bitter lemonade. The bitterness could have been reduced to make this beer better. The first property that attracted me in Kentucky Common beer is its color. This beer has corn as its base. The bitterness of this beer is tolerable and also the slight sourness.

This nutty brown ale attracts many people towards it and is said to be one of the best beer choices in the market. No one can forget the taste of this beer easily due to its delicious and refreshing nature. The dark color of this beer comes from the roasted mash, and this also has some added synthetic color in it. People like me, who love to try out new types of beer cannot ignore this beer and in fact, it will give a satisfying experience.

Reasons To Travel For Good Beer

good beer good beer[/caption]

Many have started to travel in order to find the best beer in the market. In fact, the beer tourism is considered as a growing tourism sector in recent times. Many countries are famous for their beer preparation, but the most preferred destination by the travelers is the Irish lands. In fact, the tourism department of this country is interested in promoting this sort of development, as it will be very handy for revenue improvement too.

Nearly one million tourists have visited this place especially the museum in one year. This states the attractiveness of the spot. The museum has very interesting information about the various manufacturing processes and breweries that has a history of the 250 years. When a person visits an Irish spot especially for beer tour, then he will be willing to get something exclusively Irish.

It is possible to get such Irish beer, but their ingredients and taste is very rare. Beoir is the famous beer community of the country that cannot be ignored during the travel. It will be better to download the BeoirFinder app that will be handy in order to know about the routes and some information about the brewery that is going to be visited on the beer tour.

This will help in planning the vacation in an accurate manner. Get the recommendations of the local people in order to get a better idea about the place and good brewery in the local place. I love the tasting room in the brewery as it is the spot where the tourists will be allowed to have a drink.

Most people have an idea that the cost of the beer in the tasting room will be less, but usually the truth happens to be exactly the opposite! In addition, there will not be much difference in the taste too. But, I always have some beer in the tasting room just as a tribute to the company and this is the easiest way to give money to the brewery directly. In all the other methods, one cannot be sure whether the entire money paid reaches the brewery or not.
